Join us for this fun activity where we use the guild’s wall mounted clay extruder.
What is an extruder? Simply put, an extruder is a mechanical device that passes clay through a column with applied pressure. Attached to the bottom is a shape called a die. Dies can be circles (to make coils), hollow circles, square and other shapes. When we pull the extruder lever down, the clay is pushed through the die to extrude a specific shape of clay.
Then, it’s up to us to get creative and make something from them!
You can make planters or olive/nut serving boats!
Make a cool abstract vase
or funky jars with lids!
